The Windigo Family

Our team is made up of die-hard nature lovers who take an active part in the design of our expeditions. They have been treating Windiguests to the best adventure-tourism expeditions in the country for years and have played a major part in our success, thanks to their own outdoors experience. Adventurers themselves, they give invaluable insight on the regions to visit. They are skilled, trained and best of all, they want you to have the best time possible.

Our guests. Who Are They?

From 8 to 88 years old, they come from all parts of the World. They share a passion for discovering new territories and living a different kind of vacation with quality guides. Some like to travel alone, others in a group, and others still with their family but they all want to have the best of times doing so; and we have something for all of them.

Preparatory Training
We don't leave much to luck. Instead, we like to be prepared for whatever may come our way. That is why our Operations Manager has developed in an-house training program that goes far beyond industry standards and which covers trip itineraries, regional culture and geography, food preparation, safety measures, equipment operation and maintenance, advanced technical skills, first aid and traveller-to-guide relations; no stone has been left unturned so that we can offer the best supervision in all our expeditions.

Before becoming a proven WindiGuide, our candidates must pass the following training courses:

General Guide Technique: administrative and operational responsibilities, guide-guest psychology, group dynamics, guide-specific tasks.

Outdoor First Aid Course: required by the industry.

Canadian Culture and History Course: taught with regionally diverse manuals, fauna and flora seminars, history, politics, culture and ancient customs.

On-site Practical Training: re-enactment of possible expedition emergency situations

Specialised Courses: Kayaking, canoe, hiking, skiing and arctic trekking accreditation.
